The history of Boulder's newgrass and jamgrass scene gets profiled nicely in "Years In Your Ears ... A Leftover Salmon Story," a new documentary from Nederland filmmaker Eric Abramson.
Through the recollections of former Salmon crew members and band members — and musicians such as Sam Bush, John Cowan and members of Hot Rize, String Cheese Incident and Yonder Mountain String Band — the film makes a case for Salmon's place as the bridge between traditional bluegrass and today's jammy strain. |

Thanks to everyone for making this year's Mark Vann Foundation Holiday Benefit such a resounding success.
So many great artists came to show their support for Mark, including Vince Herman and Great American Taxi, the Flying Other Brothers (featuring Pete Sears and G.E. Smith), Pete Wernick, Sally Van Meter, and a special performance by John "Blackdog" Ridnell's music students, whose training was made possible through a grant from the Mark Vann Foundation. |
